Located on the west bank of the Nile across from the city of Luxor, Deir al-Bahri is one of Egypt's most popular attractions. Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day (2018)

On November 17, 1939, student-led demonstrations against the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia led to the death of several students; on November 17, 1989, Czech students gathered again, this time to demonstrate against the communist regime. This marked the beginning of the so-called Velvet Revolution to reestablish a democratic government. The day is now a national holiday in the Czech Republic.
