An earlier subsidiary of United News & Media (www.unm.com). Miller Freeman was a leading trade show organizer and publisher serving a variety of industries. In 1996, it acquired the Blenheim Group, producers of the popular PC EXPO trade show, and in 1999, it acquired the CMP publishing company, a leading publisher of high-tech magazines.

In 2000, United News & Media acquired Miller Freeman and subsequently folded all IT-related products into the CMP name and sold off the rest. In 2001, the parent group changed its corporate identity to United Business Media and included PR Newswire under its umbrella list of companies.
