Women who experience migraines that are preceded by sensory irregularities face a heightened risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems, a long-term study of middle-aged women shows. Researchers don't know for sure why reproductive hormones and migraines are so intertwined, says migraine expert Sarah DeRossett, MD, PhD, an assistant clinical professor of neurology at Emory University in Atlanta. |
